2009-11-05RealView: Add sparsemem support for the RealView PBX platformCatalin Marinas
The RealView PBX board has two 512MB blocks of memory - one at 0x70000000 (with 256MB mirror at 0) and another at 0x20000000. Only the block at 0x70000000 (or the mirror at 0) may be used for DMA (e.g. framebuffer). This patch adds the sparsemem definitions to allow the use of all the memory split as follows: 256MB @ 0x00000000 (ZONE_DMA) 512MB @ 0x20000000 (ZONE_NORMAL) 256MB @ 0x80000000 (ZONE_NORMAL) Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2009-11-01ARM: 5774/1: Fix Realview ARM1176PB board rebootPhilby John
This is the fix for proper reboot of Realview ARM1176PB board when issuing the reboot command. Setting the eighth bit of control register SYS_RESETCTL to 1 to force a soft reset. arch_reset() is modified for realview machines to call machine specific reset function pointers. 2009-05-30RealView: Move the IRQ_* definitions out of the board-*.h filesCatalin Marinas
The IRQ_* macros need to be made visible via the mach/irqs.h file but without the additional macros defined in the board-*.h files. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2009-05-30RealView: Allow access to the secure flash memory block on PB1176Catalin Marinas
This patch adds a Kconfig option for specifying whether Linux will only be run in secure mode on the RealView PB1176 platform. Enabling it will make the secure flash memory block (64MB @ 0x3c000000) available to Linux. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2009-05-30RealView: Add support for the RealView/PBX platformColin Tuckley
This is a RealView platform supporting core tiles with ARM11MPCore, Cortex-A8 or Cortex-A9 (multicore) processors. It has support for MMC, CompactFlash, PCI-E. Signed-off-by: Colin Tuckley <colin.tuckley@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2009-05-17[ARM] smp: SCU is used on non-realview platformsRussell King
The SCU can be used by non-realview platforms, so make it visible for other people to use rather than having them copy the header file. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2009-05-17[ARM] realview: remove useless smp_cross_call_done()Russell King
smp_cross_call_done() is a no-op for MPCore, and since it's only used by platform code, there's no point in having it unless it's doing something. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2009-05-17[ARM] smp: fix cpumask usage in ARM SMP codeRussell King
The ARM SMP code wasn't properly updated for the cpumask changes, which results in smp_timer_broadcast() broadcasting ticks to non-online CPUs. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2009-03-19[ARM] pass reboot command line to arch_reset()Russell King
OMAP wishes to pass state to the boot loader upon reboot in order to instruct it whether to wait for USB-based reflashing or not. There is already a facility to do this via the reboot() syscall, except we ignore the string passed to machine_restart(). This patch fixes things to pass this string to arch_reset(). This means that we keep the reboot mode limited to telling the kernel _how_ to perform the reboot which should be independent of what we request the boot loader to do. 2009-02-19[ARM] 5396/1: RealView: Use PATA_PLATFORM to access the CompactFlashCatalin Marinas
This driver adds the platform_device definitions to allow the use of CompactFlash on the RealView PB11MPCore and PB-A8 platforms. Note that the CompactFlash controller is expected to be initialised by the Boot Monitor and support the True IDE mode. 2008-12-01RealView: Clean up the machine_is_*() calls in platsmp.cCatalin Marinas
Some of the calls weren't necessary and some others were duplicated. This patch tidies up the platsmp.c file. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2008-12-01RealView: Use only the shadow mapping of ARM11MPCore local timersCatalin Marinas
All the cases where the local timer for a CPU is accessed happen on the corresponding current CPU, hence no need to access the per-CPU local timer mappings. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2008-12-01RealView: Add Cortex-A9 support to the EB boardJon Callan

2008-12-01RealView: Allow PHYS_OFFSET at 0x70000000Catalin Marinas
RealView boards like PB11MPCore have 512MB of RAM available contiguously at 0x70000000. Half of the memory is mirrored at 0x00000000 for backwards compatibility. This patch adds the CONFIG_REALVIEW_HIGH_PHYS_OFFSET option option to change the physical base address so that the full amount of RAM is available to Linux. Note that the EB board has 256MB of RAM also mirrored at 0x70000000, the only board without this feature being PB1176. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2008-11-30[ARM] Add a common typesafe __io implementationRussell King
As Al did for Versatile in 2ad4f86b60b649fd7428265c08d73a3bd360c81b, add a typesafe __io implementation for platforms to use. Convert platforms to use this new simple typesafe implementation. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-11-29[ARM] Hide ISA DMA API when ISA_DMA_API is unsetRussell King
When ISA_DMA_API is unset, we're not implementing the ISA DMA API, so there's no point in publishing the prototypes via asm/dma.h, nor including the machine dependent parts of that API. This allows us to remove a lot of mach/dma.h files which don't contain any useful code. Unfortunately though, some platforms put their own private non-ISA definitions into mach/dma.h, so we leave these behind and fix the appropriate #include statments. 2008-11-28[ARM] remove a common set of __virt_to_bus definitionsNicolas Pitre
Let's provide an overridable default instead of having every machine class define __virt_to_bus and __bus_to_virt to the same thing. What most platforms are using is bus_addr == phys_addr so such is the default. One exception is ebsa110 which has no DMA what so ever, so the actual definition is not important except only for proper compilation. Also added a comment about the special footbridge bus translation. Let's also remove comments alluding to set_dma_addr which is not (and should not) be commonly used. 2008-11-27[ARM] realview: convert to clkdev and lookup clocks by device nameRussell King
People often point to the Integrator/Versatile/Realview implementations to justify using the consumer name as the sole selector for clocks. Eliminate this excuse by changing the Realview implementation, so it provides a better example of how it should be done. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-11-13[ARM] integrator, realview, versatile: remove FLASH_* and EPROM_* constantsRussell King
FLASH_* and EPROM_* constants are unused, and clash with drivers: drivers/atm/ambassador.h:257:1: warning: "FLASH_BASE" redefined drivers/atm/ambassador.h:258:1: warning: "FLASH_SIZE" redefined drivers/atm/iphase.h:332:1: warning: "EPROM_SIZE" redefined so remove them. 2008-11-10RealView: Make more vmalloc space by changing IO_ADDRESSCatalin Marinas
Since boards like PB11MPCore have 512MB of RAM and 128MB of flash, the virtual space is short on vmalloc memory and mapping the flash fails. This patch changes the IO_ADDRESS so that static mappings start at 0xfc000000 and moves the PCI virtual addresses higher up. The new VMALLOC_END is set to 0xf8000000 (512MB higher than the old value). Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
2008-11-10RealView: Add debug-macro.S support for the PB1176 platformCatalin Marinas
The UART0 address is different on PB1176 from EB or PB11MPCore. This patch adds the necessary #ifdef's to this file. The disadvantage is that enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_LL will work properly on PB1176 if only this platform is enabled. Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>
