2006-12-07[PATCH] hotplug CPU: clean up hotcpu_notifier() useIngo Molnar
There was lots of #ifdef noise in the kernel due to hotcpu_notifier(fn, prio) not correctly marking 'fn' as used in the !HOTPLUG_CPU case, and thus generating compiler warnings of unused symbols, hence forcing people to add #ifdefs. the compiler can skip truly unused functions just fine: text data bss dec hex filename 1624412 728710 3674856 6027978 5bfaca vmlinux.before 1624412 728710 3674856 6027978 5bfaca vmlinux.after [akpm@osdl.org: topology.c fix] Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

2006-12-01Driver core: convert msr code to use struct deviceGreg Kroah-Hartman
Converts from using struct "class_device" to "struct device" making everything show up properly in /sys/devices/ with symlinks from the /sys/class directory. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

2006-06-30[PATCH] msr.c: use register_hotcpu_notifier()Andrew Morton
register_cpu_notifier() cannot do anything in a module, in a !CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU kernel. Cc: Chandra Seetharaman <sekharan@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

2006-06-27[PATCH] cpu hotplug: make cpu_notifier related notifier blocks __cpuinit onlyChandra Seetharaman
Make notifier_blocks associated with cpu_notifier as __cpuinitdata. __cpuinitdata makes sure that the data is init time only unless CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU is defined. 2006-04-19[PATCH] x86 cpuid and msr notifier callback section mismatchesRandy Dunlap
Fix section mismatch warnings in x86 cpuid and msr notifier callback functions. We can't have these as init (discarded) code. 2005-10-28[PATCH] Driver Core: fix up all callers of class_device_create()Greg Kroah-Hartman
The previous patch adding the ability to nest struct class_device changed the paramaters to the call class_device_create(). This patch fixes up all in-kernel users of the function. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
