2008-04-29[POWERPC] mpc5200: Switch mpc5200 dts files to dts-v1 formatGrant Likely

2008-04-03[POWERPC] Fix MPC5200 (not B!) device tree so FEC ethernet worksRené Bürgel
This gets the FEC ethernet driver working again on the lite5200 platform. The FEC driver is also compatible with the MPC5200, not only with the MPC5200B, so this adds a suitable entry to the driver's match list. Furthermore this adds the settings for the PHY in the dts file for the Lite5200. Note, that this is not exactly the same as in the Lite5200B, because the PHY is located at f0003000:01 for the 5200, and at :00 for the 5200B. This was tested on a Lite5200 and a Lite5200B, both booted a kernel via tftp and mounted the root via nfs successfully. 2008-01-26[POWERPC] mpc5200: make dts files conform to generic names recommended practiceGrant Likely
Modify mpc5200 dts files to match Open Firmware's Generic Names recommended practice. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
2008-01-26[POWERPC] mpc5200: add #address-cells and #size-cells to soc node.Paul Gortmaker
The various 5200 dts files don't have values specified for the soc node, which in turn results in a warning from the processing of every child node (roughly 40 warnings per file). This explicitly sets the default values and gets rid of all the warnings. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
2008-01-18[POWERPC] mpc5200: Add generic support for simple MPC5200 based boardsMarian Balakowicz
This patch adds support for 'mpc5200-simple-platform' compatible boards which do not need a platform specific setup. Such boards are supported assuming the following: - GPIO pins are configured by the firmware, - CDM configuration (clocking) is setup correctly by firmware, - if the 'fsl,has-wdt' property is present in one of the gpt nodes, then it is safe to use such gpt to reset the board, - PCI is supported if enabled in the kernel configuration and if there is a PCI bus node defined in the device tree. 2007-12-11[POWERPC] FSL: I2C device tree cleanupsKumar Gala
* Removed device_type = "i2c" * Added missing second I2C controller on MPC8548 CDS, MPC8544 DS * Added #address-cells, #size-cells, and cell-index where missing Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-10-21[POWERPC] Update device tree binding for mpc5200 gptMarian Balakowicz
Add 'fsl,' prefix to 'compatible' property for gpt nodes. Add 'fsl,' prefix to empty, GPT0 specific 'has-wdt' property. The fsl, prefix is being added to better match the convention of prefixing manufacturer specific properties and values with the vendors name. 2007-10-08[POWERPC] Lite5200: Use comma delimiter format for lists in device treeGrant Likely
DTC now supports "foo","bar" format for lists of strings; use the new format on the lite5200 device trees. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-09-14[POWERPC] Move PCI nodes to be sibilings with SOC nodesKumar Gala
Updated the device trees to have the PCI nodes be at the same level as the SOC node. This is to make it so that the SOC nodes children address space is just on chip registers and not other bus memory as well. Also, for PCIe nodes added a P2P bridge to handle the virtual P2P bridge that exists in the PHB. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-09-14[POWERPC] DTS cleanupKumar Gala
Removed the following cruft from .dts files: * 32-bit in cpu node -- doesn't exist in any spec and not used by kernel * removed built-in (chrp legacy) * Removed #interrupt-cells in places they don't need to be set * Fixed ranges on lite5200* * Removed clock-frequency from i8259 pic node, not sure where this came from * Removed big-endian from i8259 pic nodes, this was just bogus Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-05-23[POWERPC] 52xx: unbreak lite5200 dts (_pic vs. -pic)Domen Puncer
Unbreak lite5200 dts, which were broken by 5c1992f83304cf2d56934dd6c06709b96e1b0c81 Signed-off-by: Domen Puncer <domen.puncer@telargo.com> Acked-by: Sylvain Munaut <tnt@246tNt.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-05-17[POWERPC] Removed hardcoded phandles from dtsKumar Gala
Remove explicit phandles and move to using references that autogenerate the phandles when needed. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-05-07[POWERPC] lite5200(b) support for i2cDomen Puncer
Add fsl-i2c to mpc5200 i2c node in device tree, and enable FSL_SOC. Tested to work with built-in eeprom on lite5200b. Signed-off-by: Domen Puncer <domen.puncer@telargo.com> Signed-off-by: Sylvain Munaut <tnt@246tNt.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2007-05-07[POWERPC] lite5200(b) DTS fixesDomen Puncer
Three trivial DTS fixes: -Mark Lite5200(b) boards as "mpc5200" compatible. On efika the firmware already does that. -Fix mscan interrupt. -Fix wakeup GPIO address. 2007-03-09[POWERPC] Remove unused, undocumented #cpus property from cpus nodeStuart Yoder
The #cpus property is unused and undocumented and is therefore being removed. Signed-off-by: Stuart Yoder <stuart.yoder@freescale.com> Acked-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2007-02-13[POWERPC] mpc5200 device tree bindings refinementGrant Likely
Much needed refinement of mpc5200 device tree binding specifications. Short list: - drop mpc52xx designator; only two supported chips exist, 5200 and 5200b. It's premature to refer to them as '52xx'. - Specify optional 'model' and 'revision' properties in the soc5200 node - Specify reqiured 'cell-index' property to identify between multiple SOC devices of the same type. (Useful for arbitrating shared register access) - Specify optional 'port-number' property for adjusting the logical serial port assignments. - Specify optional 'has-wdt' property for gpt0 node. - Add system-frequency property to soc5200 node Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2007-01-22[POWERPC] Make it blatantly clear; mpc5200 device tree is not yet stableGrant Likely
Documentation-only change. The 5200 device tree layout has not yet stablized, so nobody should depend on the layout of the tree. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: Sylvain Munaut <tnt@246tNt.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2007-01-09[POWERPC] Fix mpc52xx fdt to use correct device_type for sound devicesGrant Likely
This corrects the documented interface for mpc52xx device trees. Sound devices should be using 'sound' for the device_type field, not the type of sound interface.
