2006-12-04[POWERPC] Remove ioremap64 and fixup_bigphys_addrBenjamin Herrenschmidt
In order to suppose platforms with devices above 4Gb on 32 bits platforms with a >32 bits physical address space, we used to have a special ioremap64 along with a fixup routine fixup_bigphys_addr. This shouldn't be necessary anymore as struct resource now supports 64 bits addresses even on 32 bits archs. This patch enables that option when CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT is set and removes ioremap64 and fixup_bigphys_addr. This is a preliminary work for the upcoming merge of 32 and 64 bits io.h Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-12-04[POWERPC] Make pci_read_irq_line the defaultBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This patch reworks the way IRQs are fixed up on PCI for arch powerpc. It makes pci_read_irq_line() called by default in the PCI code for devices that are probed, and add an optional per-device fixup in ppc_md for platforms that really need to correct what they obtain from pci_read_irq_line(). It also removes ppc_md.irq_bus_setup which was only used by pSeries and should not be needed anymore. I've also removed the pSeries s7a workaround as it can't work with the current interrupt code anyway. I'm trying to get one of these machines working so I can test a proper fix for that problem. I also haven't updated the old-style fixup code from 85xx_cds.c because it's actually buggy :) It assigns pci_dev->irq hard coded numbers which is no good with the new IRQ mapping code. It should at least use irq_create_mapping(NULL, hard_coded_number); and possibly also set_irq_type() to set them as level low. 2006-09-21POWERPC: overhaul with cpm2_map mechanismVitaly Bordug
Incorporating the new way of cpm2 immr access, introduced in the previous patch, into CPM2 peripheral devices (fs_enet and cpm_uart). Both ppc and powerpc approved working( real actions taken in powerpc only, ppc just has a wrapper to keep init stuff consistent). Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com>
2006-09-21POWERPC: Add support for the mpc8560 eval boardVitaly Bordug
This makes the 8560 evaluation board fully supported under arch/powerpc, as the first board with CPM2 SoC peripherals. The brand new devicetree nodes are introduced (intending to be a subset of the QuiccEngine-equipped models, with dts sources placed into the kernel according to the new convention. Assuming all the preceding stuff applied (PAL+fs_enet related+ CPM_UART update), the both TSEC eth ,FCC Eths, and both SCC UARTs are working. The relevant drivers are still capable to drive users in ppc, which was verified with 8272ADS (SCC uart+FCC eth). This is also verified on mpc8540 and actually make it work (PCI stuff working as well) Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vbordug@ru.mvista.com>

2006-08-23[POWERPC] Fix CDS IRQ handling and PCI codeAndy Fleming
* Fix IRQ support in the 85xx CDS boards so it uses the new generic stuff * Fix PCI IRQ mapping to use the device tree * Disabled i8259 support to allow the CDS to boot. This will be fixed soon, but the current code doesn't even compile, so this is a vast improvement Signed-off-by: Andy Fleming <afleming@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-08-23[POWERPC] Fix interrupts on 8540 ADS boardAndy Fleming

2006-07-31[POWERPC] mpc: Constify & voidify get_property()Jeremy Kerr
Now that get_property() returns a void *, there's no need to cast its return value. Also, treat the return value as const, so we can constify get_property later. mpc* platform changes. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@ozlabs.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

2006-03-30powerpc: converted embedded platforms to use new define_machine supportKumar Gala
Removed platform_init usage on 83xx and 85xx and use define_machine and probe(). For now we always return true in the problem since you can only build for one specific board at a time. This is an artificial constraint. When we get ride of it we will need to update the Kconfig's for these sub-arch's and make the board's probe() functions actually do something. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2006-03-27powerpc: Make uImage default build output for MPC8540 ADSKumar Gala
When we build for the MPC8540 ADS produce a uImage by default. Updated the defconfig to reflect this as well. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

2005-10-11ppc: Various minor compile fixesPaul Mackerras
This fixes up a variety of minor problems in compiling with ARCH=ppc arising from using the merged versions of various header files. A lot of the changes are just adding #include <asm/machdep.h> to files that use ppc_md or smp_ops_t. This also arranges for us to use semaphore.c, vecemu.c, vector.S and fpu.S from arch/powerpc/kernel when compiling with ARCH=ppc. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2005-09-26powerpc: Merge enough to start building in arch/powerpc.Paul Mackerras
This creates the directory structure under arch/powerpc and a bunch of Kconfig files. It does a first-cut merge of arch/powerpc/mm, arch/powerpc/lib and arch/powerpc/platforms/powermac. This is enough to build a 32-bit powermac kernel with ARCH=powerpc. For now we are getting some unmerged files from arch/ppc/kernel and arch/ppc/syslib, or arch/ppc64/kernel. This makes some minor changes to files in those directories and files outside arch/powerpc. The boot directory is still not merged. That's going to be interesting.
