This adds preliminary support for the SH7786 CPU subtype. While this is a dual-core CPU, only UP is supported for now. L2 cache support is likewise not yet implemented. 2008-11-13sh: Fixed the TMU0 reload value on resumeFrancesco VIRLINZI
This patch fixes the TMU0 interrupt frequency on suspend/resume. During the resume the kernel reprograms the TMU0.ClockEvent mode but if the mode is periodic than the TMU0.TCOR is updated with a random wrong value without taking care latest valid saved value. Commit d3d74453c34f8fd87674a8cf5b8a327c68f22e99 ("hrtimer: fixup the HRTIMER_CB_IRQSAFE_NO_SOFTIRQ fallback") broke several archs, and since only Russell bothered to merge the fix, and Greg to ACK his arch, I'm sending this for merger. I have confirmation that the Alpha bit results in a booting kernel. That leaves: blackfin, frv, sh and sparc untested. The deadlock in question was found by Russell: IRQ handle -> timer_tick() - xtime seqlock held for write -> update_process_times() -> run_local_timers() -> hrtimer_run_queues() -> hrtimer_get_softirq_time() - tries to get a read lock Now, Thomas assures me the fix is trivial, only do_timer() needs to be done under the xtime_lock, and update_process_times() can savely be removed from under it. We need to make sure, that the clockevent devices are resumed, before the tick is resumed. The current resume logic does not guarantee this. Add CLOCK_EVT_MODE_RESUME and call the set mode functions of the clock event devices before resuming the tick / oneshot functionality. Fixup the existing users. This adds basic support for clockevents and clocksources, presently only implemented for TMU-based systems (which are the majority of SH-3 and SH-4 systems). The old NO_IDLE_HZ implementation is also dropped completely, the only users of this were on TMU-based systems anyways. More work needs to be done to generalize the TMU handling, in that the current implementation is rather tied to the notion of TMU0 and TMU1 utilization.
