2006-06-20[SPARC]: Kill __irq_itoa().David S. Miller
This ugly hack was long overdue to die. It was a way to print out Sparc interrupts in a more freindly format, since IRQ numbers were arbitrary opaque 32-bit integers which vectored into PIL levels. These 32-bit integers were not necessarily in the 0-->NR_IRQS range, but the PILs they vectored to were. The idea now is that we will increase NR_IRQS a little bit and use a virtual<-->real IRQ number mapping scheme similar to PowerPC. That makes this IRQ printing hack irrelevant, and furthermore only a handful of drivers actually used __irq_itoa() making it even less useful. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2005-11-29[ATM]: deregistration removes device from atm_devs list immediatelyStanislaw Gruszka
atm_dev_deregister() removes device from atm_dev list immediately to prevent operations on a phantom device. Decision to free device based only on ->refcnt now. Remove shutdown_atm_dev() use atm_dev_deregister() instead. atm_dev_deregister() also asynchronously releases all vccs related to device. 2005-10-08[PATCH] gfp flags annotations - part 1Al Viro
- added typedef unsigned int __nocast gfp_t; - replaced __nocast uses for gfp flags with gfp_t - it gives exactly the same warnings as far as sparse is concerned, doesn't change generated code (from gcc point of view we replaced unsigned int with typedef) and documents what's going on far better. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

2005-09-02[ATM]: Fix dereference of uninitialized pointer in zatmAl Viro
Fixing breakage from [NET]: Kill skb->list - original was assign vcc do a bunch of stuff using ZATM_VCC(vcc)->pool as common subexpression Now we do int pos = ZATM_VCC(vcc)->pool; assign vcc do a bunch of stuff even though vcc is not even initialized when we enter that block... 2005-08-29[NET]: Kill skb->listDavid S. Miller
Remove the "list" member of struct sk_buff, as it is entirely redundant. All SKB list removal callers know which list the SKB is on, so storing this in sk_buff does nothing other than taking up some space. Two tricky bits were SCTP, which I took care of, and two ATM drivers which Francois Romieu <romieu@fr.zoreil.com> fixed up. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net> Signed-off-by: Francois Romieu <romieu@fr.zoreil.com>

2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
