2010-03-31drm/radeon/kms/atom: make sure tables are valid (v2)Alex Deucher
Check that atom cmd and data tables are valid before using them. (v2) - fix some whitespace errors noticed by Rafał Miłecki - check a few more cases Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexdeucher@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2010-03-15drm/radeon/kms: catch atombios infinite loop and break out of itJerome Glisse
In somecase the atombios code might lead to infinite loop because the GPU is in broken state, this patch track the jump history and will abort atombios execution if we are stuck executing the same jump for more than 1sec. Note that otherwise in some case we might enter an infinite loop in the kernel context which is bad. Signed-off-by: Jerome Glisse <jglisse@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2010-02-25drm/radeon/kms/atom: fix shr/shl opsAlex Deucher
The whole attribute table is valid for shr/shl ops. Fixes fdo bug 26668 Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexdeucher@gmail.com> Cc: stable@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2010-02-18drm/radeon/kms: use udelay for short delaysDave Airlie
For usec delays use udelay instead of scheduling, this should allow reclocking to happen faster. This also was the cause of reported 33s delays at bootup on certain systems. fixes: freedesktop.org bug 25506 Cc: stable@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2010-02-15drm/radeon/kms/atom: use get_unaligned_le32() for ctx->psMatt Turner
Noticed on a DEC Alpha. Start up into console mode caused 15 unaligned accesses, and starting X caused another 48. Signed-off-by: Matt Turner <mattst88@gmail.com> CC: Jerome Glisse <jglisse@redhat.com> CC: Alex Deucher <alexdeucher@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2010-01-24drm/radeon/kms/atom: atom parser fixesAlex Deucher
Only reset the reg block on the initial execute table call; nested calls require the reg block not be reset on each call. Also reset the fb window and io mode. This matches the upstream parser behavior. Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexdeucher@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2010-01-21drm/radeon/kms/atom: fix some parser bugsAlex Deucher
- add support for inline src params - fix shift_left/shift_right and shl/shr ops shift_* ops use inline src params, shl/r use full params - fix mask op (uses inline params) Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexdeucher@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2009-12-23drm/radeon/kms: prevent parallel AtomBIOS callsRafał Miłecki
This just adds a mutex around the atombios table execution so we don't call it from two contexts at once. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <zajec5@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>

2009-12-08drm/radeon/kms: add support to atom parser for FB read/writeDave Airlie
FB read/write really doesn't need to access the actual VRAM, we can just use a scratch area. This is required for using atom displayport calls later. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2009-11-24drm/radeon/kms: read back register before writing in IIO.Dave Airlie
This fixes RH bugzilla #527874. On resume the atom posting wasn't working, however vbe posting was going fine, after 2 weeks over irc, and 8 hrs with the hardware, I tracked it down to the memory device table and it access the MC registers via IIO, it appears the rv515 atom iio table might not be fully functional, so adding a readback before doing a write either provides enough delay to make things resume correctly. Thanks to Peng Huang at Red Hat for coming to Brisbane. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2009-06-15drm/radeon: introduce kernel modesetting for radeon hardwareJerome Glisse
Add kernel modesetting support to radeon driver, use the ttm memory manager to manage memory and DRM/GEM to provide userspace API. In order to avoid backward compatibility issue and to allow clean design and code the radeon kernel modesetting use different code path than old radeon/drm driver. When kernel modesetting is enabled the IOCTL of radeon/drm driver are considered as invalid and an error message is printed in the log and they return failure. KMS enabled userspace will use new API to talk with the radeon/drm driver. The new API provide functions to create/destroy/share/mmap buffer object which are then managed by the kernel memory manager (here TTM). In order to submit command to the GPU the userspace provide a buffer holding the command stream, along this buffer userspace have to provide a list of buffer object used by the command stream. The kernel radeon driver will then place buffer in GPU accessible memory and will update command stream to reflect the position of the different buffers. The kernel will also perform security check on command stream provided by the user, we want to catch and forbid any illegal use of the GPU such as DMA into random system memory or into memory not owned by the process supplying the command stream. This part of the code is still incomplete and this why we propose that patch as a staging driver addition, future security might forbid current experimental userspace to run. This code support the following hardware : R1XX,R2XX,R3XX,R4XX,R5XX (radeon up to X1950). Works is underway to provide support for R6XX, R7XX and newer hardware (radeon from HD2XXX to HD4XXX).
