2008-02-07hwmon: VRM is not written to registersJean Delvare
What was true of reading the VRM value is also true of writing it: not being a register value, it doesn't need hardware access, so we don't need a reference to the i2c client. This allows for a minor code cleanup. As gcc appears to be smart enough to simplify the generated code by itself, this cleanup only affects the source code, the generated binaries are unchanged. 2007-10-18Add missing newlines to some uses of dev_<level> messagesJoe Perches
Found these while looking at printk uses. Add missing newlines to dev_<level> uses Add missing KERN_<level> prefixes to multiline dev_<level>s Fixed a wierd->weird spelling typo Added a newline to a printk Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Cc: "Luck, Tony" <tony.luck@intel.com> Cc: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com> Cc: Mark M. 2007-10-09hwmon: VRM is not read from registersJean Delvare
The VRM value is not read from chip registers, so there's no need to update the device data cache before exporting the VRM value to user-space. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Acked-by: Hans de Goede <j.w.r.degoede@hhs.nl> Signed-off-by: Mark M. Hoffman <mhoffman@lightlink.com>
2007-10-09hwmon: (w83791d) new sysfs beep/alarm methodologyCharles Spirakis
Add new sysfs alarm methodology to w83791d driver Signed-off-by: Charles Spirakis <bezaur@gmail.com> Acked-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Mark M. Hoffman <mhoffman@lightlink.com>

2006-10-18w83791d: Fix unchecked return statusJim Cromie
Replace all unchecked calls to device_create_file with a single group declaration, and one call to sysfs_create_group, and check that one return status. Also remove the files on device detach. kbuild explicitly includes this at build time. Signed-off-by: Dave Jones <davej@redhat.com>
2006-09-28w83791d: Documentation updateCharles Spirakis
w83791d: Documentation update The alarm bits and the beep enable bits are in different positions in the hardware. Document the problem and leave it to the user-space code to handle the situation. When this driver is updated to the standardized sysfs alarm/beep methodology, this won't be a problem. This is a documentation only change. 2006-06-22[PATCH] HWMON: w83791d: New hardware monitoring driver for the Winbond W83791DCharles Spirakis
Add support for the w83791d sensor chip. The w83791d hardware is somewhere between the w83781d and the w83792d and this driver code is derived from the code that supports those chips.
