2007-10-25[PATCH] rtl8187: Allow multicast framesMichael Wu
This patch allows rtl8187 to receive multicast frames if requested. Signed-off-by: Michael Wu <flamingice@sourmilk.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2007-10-18[PATCH] rtl8187: remove NICMAC setting in configure_filters callbackMichael Wu
NICMAC should always be set. Signed-off-by: Michael Wu <flamingice@sourmilk.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2007-10-18[PATCH] rtl8187: Fix more frag bit checking, rts duration calcMichael Wu
The wrong pointer is passed to ieee80211_get_morefrag. Fix this. While we're at it, reorder things so they look better and the rts duration calculation is done with the right length. Thanks to Christoph Hellwig for finding the ieee80211_get_morefrag issue. Signed-off-by: Michael Wu <flamingice@sourmilk.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2007-10-10[PATCH] rtl8187: Add device ID for HP wireless print kit usb dongleMichael Wu
This adds the device ID for the HP wireless print kit usb dongle. Thanks to Thierry Merle for the patch to the original rtl8187 driver. Signed-off-by: Michael Wu <flamingice@sourmilk.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2007-10-10[PATCH] mac80211: revamp interface and filter configurationJohannes Berg
Drivers are currently supposed to keep track of monitor interfaces if they allow so-called "hard" monitor, and they are also supposed to keep track of multicast etc. This patch changes that, replaces the set_multicast_list() callback with a new configure_filter() callback that takes filter flags (FIF_*) instead of interface flags (IFF_*). For a driver, this means it should open the filter as much as necessary to get all frames requested by the filter flags. Accordingly, the filter flags are named "positively", e.g. FIF_ALLMULTI. Multicast filtering is a bit special in that drivers that have no multicast address filters need to allow multicast frames through when either the FIF_ALLMULTI flag is set or when the mc_count value is positive. At the same time, drivers are no longer notified about monitor interfaces at all, this means they now need to implement the start() and stop() callbacks and the new change_filter_flags() callback. Also, the start()/stop() ordering changed, start() is now called *before* any add_interface() as it really should be, and stop() after any remove_interface(). The patch also changes the behaviour of setting the bssid to multicast for scanning when IEEE80211_HW_NO_PROBE_FILTERING is set; the IEEE80211_HW_NO_PROBE_FILTERING flag is removed and the filter flag FIF_BCN_PRBRESP_PROMISC introduced. This is a lot more efficient for hardware like b43 that supports it and other hardware can still set the BSSID to all-ones. Driver modifications by Johannes Berg (b43 & iwlwifi), Michael Wu (rtl8187, adm8211, and p54), Larry Finger (b43legacy), and Ivo van Doorn (rt2x00). 2007-10-10[NET]: Introduce and use print_mac() and DECLARE_MAC_BUF()Joe Perches
This is nicer than the MAC_FMT stuff. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-10-10[MAC80211]: rework hardware crypto flagsJohannes Berg
This patch reworks the various hardware crypto related flags to make them more local, i.e. put them with each key or each packet instead of into the hw struct. 2007-10-10[MAC80211]: improved short preamble handlingDaniel Drake
Similarly to CTS protection, whether short preambles are used for 802.11b transmissions should be a per-subif setting, not device global. For STAs, this patch makes short preamble handling automatic based on the ERP IE. For APs, hostapd still uses the prism ioctls, but the write ioctl has been restricted to AP-only subifs. ieee80211_txrx_data.short_preamble (an unused field) was removed. Unfortunately, some API changes were required for the following functions: - ieee80211_generic_frame_duration - ieee80211_rts_duration - ieee80211_ctstoself_duration - ieee80211_rts_get - ieee80211_ctstoself_get Affected drivers were updated accordingly. 2007-08-06[PATCH] rtl8187: ensure priv->hwaddr is always validMichael Wu
conf->mac_addr is not guaranteed to be set. This ensures priv->hwaddr is always set to a valid mac address. Thanks to Johannes Berg <johannes@sipsolutions.net> for finding this problem. Signed-off-by: Michael Wu <flamingice@sourmilk.net> Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
2007-07-08[PATCH] rtl8187: add header blocks and indicate origin of magic valuesJohn W. Linville
Add top-of-file comment blocks to rtl818x headers and attribute origin of magic values to original r8187 driver. Signed-off-by: John W. Linville <linville@tuxdriver.com>
