2007-05-02PCI: Cleanup the includes of <linux/pci.h>Jean Delvare
I noticed that many source files include <linux/pci.h> while they do not appear to need it. Here is an attempt to clean it all up. In order to find all possibly affected files, I searched for all files including <linux/pci.h> but without any other occurence of "pci" or "PCI". I removed the include statement from all of these, then I compiled an allmodconfig kernel on both i386 and x86_64 and fixed the false positives manually. My tests covered 66% of the affected files, so there could be false positives remaining. Untested files are: arch/alpha/kernel/err_common.c arch/alpha/kernel/err_ev6.c arch/alpha/kernel/err_ev7.c arch/ia64/sn/kernel/huberror.c arch/ia64/sn/kernel/xpnet.c arch/m68knommu/kernel/dma.c arch/mips/lib/iomap.c arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/ras.c arch/ppc/8260_io/enet.c arch/ppc/8260_io/fcc_enet.c arch/ppc/8xx_io/enet.c arch/ppc/syslib/ppc4xx_sgdma.c arch/sh64/mach-cayman/iomap.c arch/xtensa/kernel/xtensa_ksyms.c arch/xtensa/platform-iss/setup.c drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-at91.c drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-mpc.c drivers/media/video/saa711x.c drivers/misc/hdpuftrs/hdpu_cpustate.c drivers/misc/hdpuftrs/hdpu_nexus.c drivers/net/au1000_eth.c drivers/net/fec_8xx/fec_main.c drivers/net/fec_8xx/fec_mii.c drivers/net/fs_enet/fs_enet-main.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-fcc.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-fec.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-scc.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mii-bitbang.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mii-fec.c drivers/net/ibm_emac/ibm_emac_core.c drivers/net/lasi_82596.c drivers/parisc/hppb.c drivers/sbus/sbus.c drivers/video/g364fb.c drivers/video/platinumfb.c drivers/video/stifb.c drivers/video/valkyriefb.c include/asm-arm/arch-ixp4xx/dma.h sound/oss/au1550_ac97.c I would welcome test reports for these files. I am fine with removing the untested files from the patch if the general opinion is that these changes aren't safe. The tested part would still be nice to have. Note that this patch depends on another header fixup patch I submitted to LKML yesterday: [PATCH] scatterlist.h needs types.h http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/3/01/141 Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Cc: Badari Pulavarty <pbadari@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2007-02-07Driver core: convert pcmcia code to use struct deviceGreg Kroah-Hartman
Converts from using struct "class_device" to "struct device" making everything show up properly in /sys/devices/ with symlinks from the /sys/class directory. Cc: <linux-pcmcia@lists.infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2006-12-04[PATCH] pcmcia: start over after CIS overrideDominik Brodowski
When overriding the CIS, re-start the configuration of the card from scratch. Reported and debugged by Fabrice Bellet <fabrice@bellet.info> Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2006-10-01pccard_store_cis: fix wrong error handlingLinus Torvalds
The test for the error from pcmcia_replace_cis() was incorrect, and would always trigger (because if an error didn't happen, the "ret" value would not be zero, it would be the passed-in count). Reported and debugged by Fabrice Bellet <fabrice@bellet.info> Rather than just fix the single broken test, make the code in question use an understandable code-sequence instead, fixing the whole function to be more readable. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2006-03-31[PATCH] pcmcia: remove include of config.hDominik Brodowski
Remove the inclusion of include/config.h as it isn't needed any longer. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2006-03-31[PATCH] pcmcia: use mutexes instead of semaphoresDominik Brodowski
Use mutexes in the PCMICA core, as they suffice for what needs to be done. Includes a bugfix from and Signed-off-by Andrew Morton. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2006-01-12[PATCH] pcmcia: runtime powermanagement interfaceDominik Brodowski
With the "power/state" sysfs interface being deprecated, make another one available which is compatible to what was discussed on the linux PM mailinglist. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2006-01-06[PATCH] pcmcia: kzalloc conversionDominik Brodowski
Convert users of kmalloc and memset to kzalloc Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2006-01-06[PATCH] pcmcia: export stored values in sysfsDominik Brodowski
Export the stored values instead of re-reading everything in the socket information sysfs files, and make them accessible to all users, not only to root. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2005-10-28[PATCH] Driver core: pass interface to class interface methodsDmitry Torokhov
Driver core: pass interface to class intreface methods Pass interface as argument to add() and remove() class interface methods. This way a subsystem can implement generic add/remove handlers and then call interface-specific ones. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-07-07[PATCH] pcmcia: remove references to pcmcia/version.hDominik Brodowski
As a follow-up, remove the inclusion of pcmcia/version.h in many files. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: rescan bus always upon echoing into setup_doneDominik Brodowski
Always rescan the devices upon echo'ing something to available_resources_setup_done. This is needed for proper "coldplug" support. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: CIS overrid via sysfsDominik Brodowski
The one thing which surprises me in this patch that cis->Length needs to be set to count+1. Without it, it doesn't work, but with it, it doesn't make sense to me. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2005-06-27[PATCH] pcmcia: export CIS in sysfsDominik Brodowski
Export the CIS to userspace using a sysfs binary file in /sys/class/pcmcia_socket/pcmcia_scoket%n/ Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
