2009-08-07Staging: rt2870: Revert d44ca7 Removal of kernel_thread() APIMike Galbraith
Staging: rt2870: Revert d44ca7 Removal of kernel_thread() API The sanity check this patch introduced triggers on shutdown, apparently due to threads having already exited by the time BUG_ON() is reached. 2009-04-03Staging: rt2870: Removal of kernel_thread() APIPeter Teoh
Replacing the use of kernel_thread() with kthread_run(). But as kthread_run() returned a task structure, as compared with kernel_thread() returning a PID, it was found to be more efficient to store the task structure pointer as a field data instead of PID pointer. On top of modifying the field to store task structure pointer, the initialization of the field (assigned to THREAD_PID_INIT_VALUE) was also found unnecessary - as no where it is found to be used. 2009-01-06Staging: add rt2870 wireless driverGreg Kroah-Hartman
This is the Ralink RT2870 driver from the company that does horrible things like reading a config file from /etc. However, the driver that is currently under development from the wireless development community is not working at all yet, so distros and users are using this version instead (quite common hardware on a lot of netbook machines). So here is this driver, for now, until the wireless developers get a "clean" version into the main tree, or until this version is cleaned up sufficiently to move out of the staging tree. Ported to the Linux build system and cleaned up a bit already by me. Cc: Linux wireless <linux-wireless@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
