2008-02-01USB: force handover port to companion when hub_port_connect_change failsBalaji Rao
This patch hands over the port to the companion when the hub_port_connect_change fails. Signed-off-by: Balaji Rao <balajirrao@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Alan Stern <stern@rowland.harvard.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2007-10-12USB: ehci build fixes on au1xxx, ppc-socDavid Brownell
Cleanup: references to two PM routines (and HCD entry points) that no longer exist are swapped with their replacements. Evidently au1xxx and ppc-soc EHCI support doesn't get compiled with power management very much, or these build bugs would have been patched long ago. 2007-08-22USB: make EHCI initialize properly on PPC SOCsMike Nuss
Correctly initialize the on-chip EHCI controller on the AMCC PPC440EPx. Fix "USB 0.0" initialization message, and properly put the controller into a known state before starting it. Add "FIXME" comment to the au1xxx bus glue which is doing the same wrong thing here. (Who maintains that, now that AMD sold off Alchemy?) Remove some false copyright attributions which were somehow placed in the au1xxx bus glue then copied into ppc-soc. 2006-09-27USB: Properly unregister reboot notifier in case of failure in ehci hcdAleksey Gorelov
If some problem occurs during ehci startup, for instance, request_irq fails, echi hcd driver tries it best to cleanup, but fails to unregister reboot notifier, which in turn leads to crash on reboot/poweroff. The following patch resolves this problem by not using reboot notifiers anymore, but instead making ehci/ohci driver get its own shutdown method. For PCI, it is done through pci glue, for everything else through platform driver glue. One downside: sa1111 does not use platform driver stuff, and does not have its own shutdown hook, so no 'shutdown' is called for it now. I'm not sure if it is really necessary on that platform, though. 2006-07-12[PATCH] USB: au1200: EHCI and OHCI fixesDaniel Mack
I received an DBAU1200 eval kit from AMD a few days ago and tried to enable the USB2 port, but the current linux-2.6 GIT did not even compile with CONFIG_SOC_1200, CONFIG_SOC_AU1X00, CONFIG_USB_EHCI and CONFIG_USB_OHCI set. Furthermore, in ehci-hcd.c, platform_driver_register() was called with an improper argument of type 'struct device_driver *' which of course ended up in a kernel oops. How could that ever have worked on your machines? Anyway, here's a trivial patch that makes the USB subsystem working on my board for both OHCI and EHCI. It also removes the /* FIXME use "struct platform_driver" */. 2006-06-21[PATCH] USB: EHCI on non-Au1200 build fixRalf Baechle
Including ehci-au1xxx.c on a non-Au1200 Alchemy only to have it throw an error is stupid. From: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org> Acked-by: David Brownell <david-b@pacbell.net> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2006-06-21[PATCH] USB: allow multiple types of EHCI controllers to be built as modulesKumar Gala
In some systems we may have both a platform EHCI controller and PCI EHCI controller. Previously we couldn't build the EHCI support as a module due to conflicting module_init() calls in the code.
