2008-10-16radeonfb: revert "Fix radeon DDC regression"Jean Delvare
The bug was in fb_ddc and was fixed by commit b64d70825abbf706bbe80be1b11b09514b71f45e (fb_ddc: fix DDC lines quirk) so the workaround in radeonfb can be removed now. 2008-08-05radeonfb: give i2c buses nicer namesJean Delvare
The name of the i2c buses shows in the output of "i2cdetect -l", so it's important to give informative names. 2008-04-28radeonfb: speed up the I2C busesJean Delvare
There is no reason to drive the radeon I2C buses at such a low speed, so bump it from 12.5 kbps to 50 kbps. The Intel (i810) and Matrox framebuffer drivers already run their I2C bus at this speed. 2008-04-28radeonfb: drop redundant RTRACE macroJean Delvare
RTRACE() does exactly the same thing as the standard pr_debug() call, so just use the latter. 2008-04-28radeonfb: fix debug optionJean Delvare
Fix CONFIG_FB_RADEON_DEBUG. DEBUG must be defined before including any kernel header, otherwise dev_dbg() resolves to a no-op. Also, when debugging is disabled, don't set DEBUG at all instead of setting it to 0, to comply with what the kernel headers expect. 2007-05-02PCI: Cleanup the includes of <linux/pci.h>Jean Delvare
I noticed that many source files include <linux/pci.h> while they do not appear to need it. Here is an attempt to clean it all up. In order to find all possibly affected files, I searched for all files including <linux/pci.h> but without any other occurence of "pci" or "PCI". I removed the include statement from all of these, then I compiled an allmodconfig kernel on both i386 and x86_64 and fixed the false positives manually. My tests covered 66% of the affected files, so there could be false positives remaining. Untested files are: arch/alpha/kernel/err_common.c arch/alpha/kernel/err_ev6.c arch/alpha/kernel/err_ev7.c arch/ia64/sn/kernel/huberror.c arch/ia64/sn/kernel/xpnet.c arch/m68knommu/kernel/dma.c arch/mips/lib/iomap.c arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/ras.c arch/ppc/8260_io/enet.c arch/ppc/8260_io/fcc_enet.c arch/ppc/8xx_io/enet.c arch/ppc/syslib/ppc4xx_sgdma.c arch/sh64/mach-cayman/iomap.c arch/xtensa/kernel/xtensa_ksyms.c arch/xtensa/platform-iss/setup.c drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-at91.c drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-mpc.c drivers/media/video/saa711x.c drivers/misc/hdpuftrs/hdpu_cpustate.c drivers/misc/hdpuftrs/hdpu_nexus.c drivers/net/au1000_eth.c drivers/net/fec_8xx/fec_main.c drivers/net/fec_8xx/fec_mii.c drivers/net/fs_enet/fs_enet-main.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-fcc.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-fec.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mac-scc.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mii-bitbang.c drivers/net/fs_enet/mii-fec.c drivers/net/ibm_emac/ibm_emac_core.c drivers/net/lasi_82596.c drivers/parisc/hppb.c drivers/sbus/sbus.c drivers/video/g364fb.c drivers/video/platinumfb.c drivers/video/stifb.c drivers/video/valkyriefb.c include/asm-arm/arch-ixp4xx/dma.h sound/oss/au1550_ac97.c I would welcome test reports for these files. I am fine with removing the untested files from the patch if the general opinion is that these changes aren't safe. The tested part would still be nice to have. Note that this patch depends on another header fixup patch I submitted to LKML yesterday: [PATCH] scatterlist.h needs types.h http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/3/01/141 Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Cc: Badari Pulavarty <pbadari@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2007-02-14[PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). 2006-12-10i2c: Discard the i2c algo del_bus wrappersJean Delvare

2006-11-16[PATCH] Fix radeon DDC regressionBenjamin Herrenschmidt
When radeonfb was changed to use the new "generic" ddc, a bit of code initializing the GPIO lines was lost, causing it to not work if the firmware didn't configure them properly, which seems to happen on some cards. 2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C: Kill i2c_algorithm.id (6/7)Jean Delvare
In theory, there should be no more users of I2C_ALGO_* at this point. However, it happens that several drivers were using I2C_ALGO_* for adapter ids, so we need to correct these before we can get rid of all the I2C_ALGO_* definitions. Note that this also fixes a bug in media/video/tvaudio.c: /* don't attach on saa7146 based cards, because dedicated drivers are used */ if ((adap->id & I2C_ALGO_SAA7146)) return 0; This test was plain broken, as it would succeed for many more adapters than just the saa7146: any those id would share at least one bit with the saa7146 id. We are really lucky that the few other adapters we want this driver to work with did not fulfill that condition. 2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
