2008-04-28gxfb: replace FBSIZE config option with a module parameterAndres Salomon
Use a command line option (vram) rather than hardcoding the vram size. LxFB already does this; it's useful for machines that can't query the BIOS for fb size. This patch originated from David Woodhouse, was modified by Jordan Crouse, and was then modified further by me. This also adds some gxfb documentation in Documentation/fb. 2006-12-08[PATCH] gxfb: Fixups for the AMD Geode GX framebuffer driverJordan Crouse
We cannot assume that the BIOS will be correctly setting up the hardware, so set some bits in various display registers to enable video output. Allow an advanced user to specify a frambuffer size, rather then probing the BIOS. All of these fixes were prompted by the OLPC effort. 2006-03-27[PATCH] fbdev: framebuffer driver for Geode GXDavid Vrabel
A framebuffer driver for the display controller in AMD Geode GX processors (Geode GX533, Geode GX500 etc.). Tested at 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 at 8, 16, and 24 bpp with both CRT and TFT. No accelerated features currently implemented and compression remains disabled. This driver requires that the BIOS (or the SoftVG/Firmbase code in the BIOS) has created an appropriate virtual PCI header. 2005-11-07[PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbconAntonino A. Daplas
According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is moved to the console directory. Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own version. The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will also not be loaded. 2005-09-09[PATCH] fbdev: geode updatesDavid Vrabel
Geode framebuffer driver updates: - Local mode list (taken from modedb.c) containing only relevant modes. This also makes the driver work as a module. - Make it a PCI driver (from James Simmons <jsimmons@infradead.org>). - A few other minor cosmetic bits and pieces. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
