Pass a full set of flags to drivers' per-operation 'prep' routines. Currently the only flag passed is DMA_PREP_INTERRUPT. The expectation is that arch-specific async_tx_find_channel() implementations can exploit this capability to find the best channel for an operation. 2007-07-20[ARM] 4495/1: iop: combined watchdog timer driver for iop3xx and iop13xxDan Williams
In order for this driver to be shared across the iop architectures the iop3xx and iop13xx header files are modified to present a common interface for the iop_wdt driver. Details: * iop13xx supports disabling the timer while iop3xx does not. This requires a few 'compatibility' definitions in include/asm-arm/hardware/iop3xx.h to preclude adding #ifdef CONFIG_ARCH_IOP13XX blocks to the driver code. * The heartbeat interval is derived from the internal bus clock rate, so this this patch also exports the tick rate to the iop_wdt driver. arch/arm/boot/compressed/misc.o: In function `valid_user_regs': misc.c:(.text+0x74): undefined reference to `elf_hwcap' This triggers after the various elf_hwcap cleanups in: f884b1cf578e079f01682514ae1ae64c74586602 d1cbbd6b413510c6512f4f80ffd48db1a8dd554a include/asm-arm/arch-iop13xx/uncompress.h calls cpu_relax while spinning on a register value. cpu_relax requires processor.h->ptrace.h->hwcap.h 'elf_hwcap' is defined as an extern, but since the uncompressor does not link against arch/arm/kernel/setup.c 'elf_hwcap' remains undefined. Fix is to open code the cpu_relax() call as barrier(). PCI devices were being programmed with an incorrect base address value. This patch moves I/O space into a 16-bit addressable region and corrects the i/o offset. 2007-02-17[ARM] 4185/2: entry: introduce get_irqnr_preamble and arch_ret_to_userDan Williams
get_irqnr_preamble allows machines to take some action before entering the get_irqnr_and_base loop. On iop we enable cp6 access. arch_ret_to_user is added to the userspace return path to allow individual architectures to take actions, like disabling coprocessor access, before the final return to userspace. Per Nicolas Pitre's note, there is no need to cp_wait on the return to user as the latency to return is sufficient. Since iop13xx defines the PCI I/O spaces with physical resource addresses the __io macro needs to perform the physical to virtual conversion. I incorrectly assumed that this would be handled by ioremap, but drivers (like e1000) directly dereference the address returned from __io. 2006-12-07[ARM] 3995/1: iop13xx: add iop13xx supportDan Williams
The iop348 processor integrates an Xscale (XSC3 512KB L2 Cache) core with a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller, multi-ported DDR2 memory controller, 3 Application Direct Memory Access (DMA) controllers, a 133Mhz PCI-X interface, a x8 PCI-Express interface, and other peripherals to form a system-on-a-chip RAID subsystem engine. The iop342 processor replaces the SAS controller with a second Xscale core for dual core embedded applications. The iop341 processor is the single core version of iop342. This patch supports the two Intel customer reference platforms iq81340mc for external storage and iq81340sc for direct attach (HBA) development.
