2007-01-26[PATCH] knfsd: Fix type mismatch with filldir_t used by nfsdNeilBrown
nfsd defines a type 'encode_dent_fn' which is much like 'filldir_t' except that the first pointer is 'struct readdir_cd *' rather than 'void *'. It then casts encode_dent_fn points to 'filldir_t' as needed. This hides any other type mismatches between the two such as the fact that the 'ino' arg recently changed from ino_t to u64. So: get rid of 'encode_dent_fn', get rid of the cast of the function type, change the first arg of various functions from 'struct readdir_cd *' to 'void *', and live with the fact that we have a little less type checking on the calling of these functions now. Less internal (to nfsd) checking offset by more external checking, which is more important. Thanks to Gabriel Paubert <paubert@iram.es> for discovering this and providing an initial patch. 2006-10-04[PATCH] knfsd: Avoid excess stack usage in svc_tcp_recvfromNeilBrown
.. by allocating the array of 'kvec' in 'struct svc_rqst'. As we plan to increase RPCSVC_MAXPAGES from 8 upto 256, we can no longer allocate an array of this size on the stack. So we allocate it in 'struct svc_rqst'. However svc_rqst contains (indirectly) an array of the same type and size (actually several, but they are in a union). So rather than waste space, we move those arrays out of the separately allocated union and into svc_rqst to share with the kvec moved out of svc_tcp_recvfrom (various arrays are used at different times, so there is no conflict). 2006-01-06[PATCH] knfsd: check error status from vfs_getattr and i_op->fsyncDavid Shaw
Both vfs_getattr and i_op->fsync return error statuses which nfsd was largely ignoring. This as noticed when exporting directories using fuse. This patch cleans up most of the offences, which involves moving the call to vfs_getattr out of the xdr encoding routines (where it is too late to report an error) into the main NFS procedure handling routines. There is still a called to vfs_gettattr (related to the ACL code) where the status is ignored, and called to nfsd_sync_dir don't check return status either. 2005-06-22[PATCH] NFSD: Add server support for NFSv3 ACLs.Andreas Gruenbacher
This adds functions for encoding and decoding POSIX ACLs for the NFSACL protocol extension, and the GETACL and SETACL RPCs. The implementation is compatible with NFSACL in Solaris. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
