Split the xt_compat_match/xt_compat_target into smaller type-safe functions performing just one operation. Handle all alignment and size-related conversions centrally in these function instead of requiring each module to implement a full-blown conversion function. Replace ->compat callback by ->compat_from_user and ->compat_to_user callbacks, responsible for converting just a single private structure. 2006-08-13[NETFILTER]: ulog: fix panic on SMP kernelsMark Huang
Fix kernel panic on various SMP machines. The culprit is a null ub->skb in ulog_send(). If ulog_timer() has already been scheduled on one CPU and is spinning on the lock, and ipt_ulog_packet() flushes the queue on another CPU by calling ulog_send() right before it exits, there will be no skbuff when ulog_timer() acquires the lock and calls ulog_send(). Cancelling the timer in ulog_send() doesn't help because it has already been scheduled and is running on the first CPU. Similar problem exists in ebt_ulog.c and nfnetlink_log.c. When a packet without any chunks is received, the newconntrack variable in sctp_packet contains an out of bounds value that is used to look up an pointer from the array of timeouts, which is then dereferenced, resulting in a crash. 2006-06-29[NETLINK]: Encapsulate eff_cap usage within security framework.Darrel Goeddel
This patch encapsulates the usage of eff_cap (in netlink_skb_params) within the security framework by extending security_netlink_recv to include a required capability parameter and converting all direct usage of eff_caps outside of the lsm modules to use the interface. It also updates the SELinux implementation of the security_netlink_send and security_netlink_recv hooks to take advantage of the sid in the netlink_skb_params struct. This also enables SELinux to perform auditing of netlink capability checks. Please apply, for 2.6.18 if possible.
