2008-10-17[IA64] kill sys32_pipeChristoph Hellwig
It's just a duplicate of the generic sys_pipe that still lacks the recently added error handling. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
2008-10-17[IA64] remove sys32_pauseChristoph Hellwig
It's just a duplicate of the native sys_pause, which we can use after defining __ARCH_WANT_SYS_PAUSE. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
2008-10-16compat: generic compat get/settimeofdayChristoph Hellwig
Nothing arch specific in get/settimeofday. The details of the timeval conversion varied a little from arch to arch, but all with the same results. Also add an extern declaration for sys_tz to linux/time.h because externs in .c files are fowned upon. I'll kill the externs in various other files in a sparate patch. 2008-10-06[IA64] utrace Convert compat ptrace to use compat_sys_ptraceShaohua Li
Convert IA64 32-bit ptrace to use compat_sys_ptrace. Signed-off-by: Shaohua Li <shaohua.li@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
2008-10-06[IA64] utrace use generic trace hookShaohua Li
Make IA64 use generic trace hook in some paths. Signed-off-by: Shaohua Li <shaohua.li@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Luck <tony.luck@intel.com>
2008-08-18[IA64] use generic compat_old_sys_readdirChristoph Hellwig
Switch ia64 to the generic compat_sys_old_readdir which is identical except for slightly better error handling. Also remove sys32_getdents which already isn't wired up to the syscall table anymore in favour of compat_sys_getdents. 2007-07-16diskquota: 32bit quota tools on 64bit architecturesVasily Tarasov
OpenVZ Linux kernel team has discovered the problem with 32bit quota tools working on 64bit architectures. In 2.6.10 kernel sys32_quotactl() function was replaced by sys_quotactl() with the comment "sys_quotactl seems to be 32/64bit clean, enable it for 32bit" However this isn't right. Look at if_dqblk structure: struct if_dqblk { __u64 dqb_bhardlimit; __u64 dqb_bsoftlimit; __u64 dqb_curspace; __u64 dqb_ihardlimit; __u64 dqb_isoftlimit; __u64 dqb_curinodes; __u64 dqb_btime; __u64 dqb_itime; __u32 dqb_valid; }; For 32 bit quota tools sizeof(if_dqblk) == 0x44. But for 64 bit kernel its size is 0x48, 'cause of alignment! Thus we got a problem. Attached patch reintroduce sys32_quotactl() function, that handles this and related situations. 2007-02-11[PATCH] Common compat_sys_sysinfoKyle McMartin
I noticed that almost all architectures implemented exactly the same sys32_sysinfo... except parisc, where a bug was to be found in handling of the uptime. So let's remove a whole whack of code for fun and profit. Cribbed compat_sys_sysinfo from x86_64's implementation, since I figured it would be the best tested. This patch incorporates Arnd's suggestion of not using set_fs/get_fs, but instead extracting out the common code from sys_sysinfo. 2006-01-10[PATCH] common compat_sys_timer_createChristoph Hellwig
The comment in compat.c is wrong, every architecture provides a get_compat_sigevent() for the IPC compat code already. This basically moves the x86_64 version to common code and removes all the others. 2005-09-07[PATCH] remove duplicated sys_open32() code from 64bit archsMiklos Szeredi
64 bit architectures all implement their own compatibility sys_open(), when in fact the difference is simply not forcing the O_LARGEFILE flag. So use the a common function instead. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
