2008-09-24powerpc: Rename dma_64.c to dma.cBecky Bruce
This is in preparation for the merge of the 32 and 64-bit dma code in arch/powerpc. Signed-off-by: Becky Bruce <becky.bruce@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2008-07-09powerpc: move device_to_mask() to dma-mapping.hMark Nelson
Move device_to_mask() to dma-mapping.h because we need to use it from outside dma_64.c in a later patch. Signed-off-by: Mark Nelson <markn@au1.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2008-07-09powerpc/dma: implement new dma_*map*_attrs() interfacesMark Nelson
Update powerpc to use the new dma_*map*_attrs() interfaces. In doing so update struct dma_mapping_ops to accept a struct dma_attrs and propagate these changes through to all users of the code (generic IOMMU and the 64bit DMA code, and the iseries and ps3 platform code). The old dma_*map_*() interfaces are reimplemented as calls to the corresponding new interfaces. 2008-07-09powerpc/dma: Add struct iommu_table argument to iommu_map_sg()Mark Nelson
Make iommu_map_sg take a struct iommu_table. It did so before commit 740c3ce66700640a6e6136ff679b067e92125794 (iommu sg merging: ppc: make iommu respect the segment size limits). This stops the function looking in the archdata.dma_data for the iommu table because in the future it will be called with a device that has no table there. This also has the nice side effect of making iommu_map_sg() match the other map functions. 2008-02-05iommu sg: powerpc: convert iommu to use the IOMMU helperFUJITA Tomonori
This patch converts PPC's IOMMU to use the IOMMU helper functions. The IOMMU doesn't allocate a memory area spanning LLD's segment boundary anymore. iseries_hv_alloc and iseries_hv_map don't have proper device struct. 4GB boundary is used for them. 2008-01-25[POWERPC] Remove bogus comment in dma_direct_alloc_coherent()Michael Ellerman
Since commit c80d9133e99de1af607314107910a2a1645efb17 (Make direct DMA use node local allocations) went in this comment makes no sense. 2008-01-25[POWERPC] Remove the global dma_direct_offsetMichael Ellerman
We no longer need the global dma_direct_offset, update the comment to reflect the new reality. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <michael@ellerman.id.au> Acked-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2008-01-25[POWERPC] Use archdata.dma_data in dma_direct_ops and add the offsetMichael Ellerman
Now that all platforms using dma_direct_offset setup the archdata.dma_data correctly, we can change the dma_direct_ops to retrieve the offset from the dma_data, rather than directly from the global. While we're here, change the way the offset is used - instead of or'ing it into the value, add it. This should have no effect on current implementations where the offset is far larger than memory, however in future we may want to use smaller offsets. 2007-10-16PPC: sg chaining supportJens Axboe
This updates the ppc iommu/pci dma mappers to sg chaining. Includes further fixes from FUJITA Tomonori <fujita.tomonori@lab.ntt.co.jp>. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <jens.axboe@oracle.com>
2006-12-04[POWERPC] Make direct DMA use node local allocationsBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This patch makes dma_alloc_coherent() use node local allocation when using the direct DMA ops. The node is obtained from the new device extension. If no such extension is present, the current node is used. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-12-04[POWERPC] Add an optional offset to direct DMA on 64 bitsBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This patch adds an optional global offset that can be added to DMA addresses when using the direct DMA operations. That brings it a step closer to the 32 bits direct DMA operations, and makes it useable on Cell when the MMU is disabled and we are using a spider southbridge. 2006-12-04[POWERPC] Refactor 64 bits DMA operationsBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This patch completely refactors DMA operations for 64 bits powerpc. 32 bits is untouched for now. We use the new dev_archdata structure to add the dma operations pointer and associated data to struct device. While at it, we also add the OF node pointer and numa node. In the future, we might want to look into merging that with pci_dn as well. The old vio, pci-iommu and pci-direct DMA ops are gone. They are now replaced by a set of generic iommu and direct DMA ops (non PCI specific) that can be used by bus types. The toplevel implementation is now inline. 2006-07-31[POWERPC] Simplify dma_ops bug conditionsJeremy Kerr
Use BUG_ON rather than BUG to simplify the dma_ops handing, and remove the now-unnecessary return cases. Booted on pseries. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@ozlabs.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-01-09[PATCH] powerpc: IBMEBUS bus supportHeiko J Schick
This patch adds the necessary core bus support used by device drivers that sit on the IBM GX bus on modern pSeries machines like the Galaxy infiniband for example. It provide transparent DMA ops (the low level driver works with virtual addresses directly) along with a simple bus layer using the Open Firmware matching routines. 2005-11-14powerpc: Move most remaining ppc64 files over to arch/powerpcPaul Mackerras
Also deletes files in arch/ppc64 that are no longer used now that we don't compile with ARCH=ppc64 any more. Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
